Singapore Scholarship 2012

Introduction

The Singapore Scholarship was announced by the then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Goh Chok Tong at the 6th ASEAN summit in Dec 2008. The objective of this scholarship are :

• Objective of this scholarship is to provide education to capable students from ASEAN countries.
• Scholarship are awarded for full time undergraduate degree course at Nanyang Technical University, National University of singapore and Singapore Management University.

The award is based on academic merit and places will be allocated by open competition. If necessary, foundation or bridging programme will be provided (for SPM and O-level students)

Field Of Study
All disciplines except for Medicine, Dentistry, Architecture and Law.

Duration of Sponsorship
The duration of scholarship is for three or four years depending on the programme.

Scholarship Amount

• Scholarship covers tuition fees
• Living allowance of S$4,300 per annum
• Accomodation allowance based on different room rates at each university
• One return economy class air ticket from home country to Singapore for the duration of studies

Eligibility

• Be a Malaysian Citizen
• Possess excellent academic records
• Have a good command of English
• Candidates must meet entry requirement for the universities
• Candidates cannot hold any other scholarships, fellowship, grants or award without prior approval from the Singapore government
• The is no BOND for the scholarship. Scholars are expected to return to Malaysia upon graduation and work here
• Shortlisted nominees will have to take entrance examination set by Singapore universities. After that nominees are further shortlisted and will have to undergo an interview which will be conducted by the Singapore uiniversities.
