MYOC Club Members Convoy To Terengganu For Malaysia Book Of Records Feat

PUTRAJAYA, May 25 (Bernama) -- Some 230 Perodua Alza multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) began a convoy from Putrajaya to Kuala Terengganu today in hopes to put the event in the Malaysia Book of Records as the Longest MPV Gathering.

The convoy, flagged off by Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek from the Youth and Sports Ministry Tower at 10am, involved 450 My Alza Owners Club (MYOC) members who will travel 471km to reach their destination.

MYOC Mega Convoy programme director Khairul Akhmal Mokhtar said the programme, which received cooperation from non-governmental organisation Aman Palestin, was also held to liven up the One Million Youth Gathering 2012.

"We will collect donations from each MYOC member which will help orphanages in Kuala Terengganu," he told Bernama here today.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Shabery presented RM3,000 to 30 students from Sekolah Pondok Agama Bustanul Ariffin in Banting, Selangor, on behalf of World Youth Festival Management Sdn Bhd.

The company is the organiser of the World Jazz Music event being held in conjunction with the five-day One Million Youths Gathering.
