SUBANG JAYA: Failure by contractors to meet construction standards for SJK(C) Tun Tan Siew Sin in Putra Heights has caused the roof to collapse even before the first student walks in.
A section of the school's roof fell after heavy rain on Oct 24, and was only discovered the next day.
School board secretary Ho Min Khang said the contractors had failed to meet the requirements in many aspects.
Among the other defects are uneven stairways, clogged toilet bowls and failure to meet the estimated time of completion.
The school is scheduled to be completed in January, but is still under construction.
Ho added that the school board was relieved nobody was hurt in the incident but they will act against the contractors.
